Woman's Only Jiu Jitsu in Corona

Let's be real for a second. Women are different for Men. Not just in how we look physically but how we process things and react as well. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a male dominated sport, but the number of Woman on the mat is growing rapidly. I don't think most women will look at Jiu Jitsu and think it is something they will like. Myself included. The sweat, close contact, and choking each other had zero appeal to me, Getting over my own personal bubble was huge. But I am glad I jumped out of my comfort zone, because I found something that I love to do while staying fit and active!

Women's Only BJJ and Self Defense Corona

Here are 4 reasons Every Women should atleast try Jiu Jitsu for 30 days.

1. Self Defense-Jiu Jitsu is a great self Defense art and not only do you learn techniques to defend yourself, but you also practice them in a live environment, which gives you the confidence to know they will work if you ever need them. We often refer to Jiu Jitsu as "training". We are "training" to possibly save your own life one day. Hopefully you will never need it, but if you do you will be equip with a good set of self defense skills

2. Exercise-Everyone should have some sort of Exercise regiment to stay happy and healthy. Jiu Jitsu is a full body workout while learning and having fun. Personally I have done everything from running, to cycling to group fitness class at a gym. Everyone I would watch the clock and count the minutes down till we are down. Now I watch the clock and am sad that class has flown by and is almost over.

3. Jiu Jitsu will tone you up-Looking to get tone?  We have women that have come from doing years of crossfit type workouts and lost more weight and gotten super tone with Jiu Jitsu.

4. Environment-Women need each other for support, not just with weight loss, or healthy eating, but with day to day life. Maybe balancing working and mom life, or relationships. Surrounding yourself with like minded people will help you find greater success in every area in your life. At Pacific Top Team, you will find the mats filled with friendly faces that will not only become training partners and team mates, but friends. #PTTGIRLSTRIBE

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the best Martial Art for Woman's Self Defense

Self Defense Class with Coach Kim at Pacific Top Team Corona

Self Defense Class with Coach Kim at Pacific Top Team Corona

The Crime Statistics is overwhelming against Women.

  • Every 4 seconds a theft happens
  • Every 19 seconds a violent crime happens
  • Every 2.5 minutes a sexual assault occurs
  • Every 5 minutes a woman is raped
  • Every 24 minutes a Woman is murdered

It's unfortunate that Woman are too often victimized, but we cannot be ignorant and have the attitude that it will not happen to us. We as women need to equip ourselves with the skills to be able to defend ourselves if the occasion ever arises.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the best Martial Art to learn Self Defense because it focuses on ground grappling where 97% of fights or attacks end up. It is also designed for a smaller, weaker person to be able to control the situation with someone bigger and stronger.

I have been training Self Defense and Jiu Jitsu for over 5 years now and feel comfortable being uncomfortable. I pray I never have to use the skills I now have acquired but know that if I was ever attacked I would die fighting for my life instead of just allowing myself be a victim. When I first starting "training" I didn't understand why that word was used, but now I understand that every time I am on the mat, I am "training" to possibly save my life. In the beginning everything was so overwhelming and I had to think about step,  and was not confident in my technique. Even in the safe environment of class I was panicked. Now I have trained so much it is like second nature. I see it in my life daily from even the simplest things like my footwork when I walk or being more aware of my surrounding always. No one deserves to be a victim, but it is our responsibility to equip ourselves with skills to defend ourselves if ever needed.

What's your game plan if you are attacked?? If you can't answer this question, you need to take the steps today to create one!
