Let's be real for a second. Women are different for Men. Not just in how we look physically but how we process things and react as well. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a male dominated sport, but the number of Woman on the mat is growing rapidly. I don't think most women will look at Jiu Jitsu and think it is something they will like. Myself included. The sweat, close contact, and choking each other had zero appeal to me, Getting over my own personal bubble was huge. But I am glad I jumped out of my comfort zone, because I found something that I love to do while staying fit and active!
Here are 4 reasons Every Women should atleast try Jiu Jitsu for 30 days.
1. Self Defense-Jiu Jitsu is a great self Defense art and not only do you learn techniques to defend yourself, but you also practice them in a live environment, which gives you the confidence to know they will work if you ever need them. We often refer to Jiu Jitsu as "training". We are "training" to possibly save your own life one day. Hopefully you will never need it, but if you do you will be equip with a good set of self defense skills
2. Exercise-Everyone should have some sort of Exercise regiment to stay happy and healthy. Jiu Jitsu is a full body workout while learning and having fun. Personally I have done everything from running, to cycling to group fitness class at a gym. Everyone I would watch the clock and count the minutes down till we are down. Now I watch the clock and am sad that class has flown by and is almost over.
3. Jiu Jitsu will tone you up-Looking to get tone? We have women that have come from doing years of crossfit type workouts and lost more weight and gotten super tone with Jiu Jitsu.
4. Environment-Women need each other for support, not just with weight loss, or healthy eating, but with day to day life. Maybe balancing working and mom life, or relationships. Surrounding yourself with like minded people will help you find greater success in every area in your life.
