Why Woman's Only Classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Are so Important

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is still a male dominant sport but the number of woman training now is growing fast. At Pacific Top Team Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Corona we have had a Woman's Only Program since the opening of the school.

There are many Women that start training in Co-Ed Classes and now feel they are too good to train in the Woman's only class.  You often hear comments like "I don't need to train with Women" or "I've trained with guys, there's not much else I need to see" or maybe "I'm not a beginner"

Training in a female only class is one of the best things you can do for your Jiu Jitsu training. If you are brand new to the sport, it is a safe place to get comfortable. If you are an experienced Jitsu female, Woman's only classes are important to support each other as ladies on the mat. But we also need to train with all body types including other females, especially if you are going to compete.  Females train differently and you haven't seen anything until you train with a technical female. Most girls in the female only class are not beginners and you see a wide array of diversity in the skill level of girls training in a woman's only program.

Whether you are new to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or a seasoned competitor, try to seek out Women only classes and events. Support the female community in this sport and get in some amazing training while having some laughs.
